Tara has created two full length shows and is about to start on her third…! Holy Presents was her first humanette puppet comedy starring the Holy Trinity at home for Christmas, ‘An Evening with Tara Boland’ was her debut solo show, that’s right ‘An Evening with’ as a debut…
Tara trained at LISPA, a Lecoq school that was once in London (sigh, no more) she is a physical fool and absurd clown but her work is mainly inspired by pop culture; she loves making the familiar feel ridiculous. Big, dumb, campy fun is Tara’s calling card for comedy. Have a lil look at her socials for upcoming shows.
Originally created and performed by Tara in collaboration with Fiona Clift, Helena Rice and Hannah Berry as Humanish Company
Winner of a First Bite Commission by China Plate, mac Birmingham and Warwick Arts Centre. Supported by Blind Summit and the Arts Council.
Holy Presents was Tara’s first fully fledged comedy show that sold out its first Christmas run at CPT and went on to tour the UK and then returned to CPT for another fantastic festive run the following year.
A humanette* puppet comedy starring the Holy Trinity at home for Christmas!
Joy to the world, in heaven Jesus’ iPhone 6S is ringing, the Holy Ghost is on the loo and God’s lost his glasses. Sweaty stilton, too much port and a turkey that’s drier than Joseph’s flip-flop; it’s just another family Christmas in the household of its holy originators. An absurd and endearing portrait of Christmas, like The Royle Family meets Phoenix Nights, in miniature.
